Draw Your Own Superhero

book cover of Marvel Adventures Thor comic book Right now, superheroes are everywhere!

With big summer movies like Thor, Green Lantern, Captain America and X-Men: First Class, it seems like you can't go anywhere without seeing characters made famous by Marvel and DC Comics.

And during our summer reading program, kids can learn to create and draw their own original superhero characters.  Tomorrow, Friday, July 22, at 1 p.m., local artist Maryann Pollock will lead a comic book character-drawing workshop with a step-by-step focus on creating superheroes.

Kids are invited to come and get creative! This program is designed for ages 6 to 12.

If the children's room is closed due to roof repair, we will host the program elsewhere in the building.
