Star Wars Extravaganza

Star wars origamiThe Palisades Neighborhood Library suited up with light sabers and the Force to welcome the release of another Origami Yoda book. Penned by Tom Angleberger, this highly acclaimed series has captivated origami and star wars enthusiasts alike. So for the latest release, The Secret of The Fortune Wookie, Palisades Library celebrated with a Star Wars Extravaganza.

To start, we tried our hand at some Star Wars character trivia. We had quotes from Yoda, questions about Boba Fett’s dad and more. The winners received Princess Leia cookies.

Afterward, we folded the namesake of the story, our very own Fortune Wookies. Some of the kids took the project in their own hands and folded completely new Star Wars characters out of the fortune tellers.

Boba Fett, Yoda and Ahsoka Tano all joined the Fortune Wookies in the pile of finished projects.

But everyone was a winner with the assortment of Star Wars refreshments. We had licorice light sabers, Han Solo cupcakes and Princess Leia cookies to enjoy during the Clone Wars movie.

Many of the participants dressed up. We had some great costumes, including one of Qui Gon Lee.

To add to their brilliant costumes, we had some fortune wookie tattoos on hand. And just think... there's even a fourth book coming!
