Anthony Grooms will join us at noon in The Great Hall to discuss his book, Bombingham, the 2013 Live to Read selection.  In the book, a young soldier in Vietnam remembers his youth growing up in Birmingham, Ala., and likens the violence he experienced there during the Civil Rights Movement to the violence of war.

Live to Read is an annual citywide celebration of literature.  DC Public Library has partnered with the Humanities Council of Washington, DC to present a variety of Live to Read programs.  This year's titles -- Bombingham, by Anthony Grooms and The Watsons Go to Birmingham-1963, by Christopher Paul Curtis -- were chosen in recognition of the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington.
