Beneath the Surface: Albus Cavus - Bicycle Design

Tuesday, July 30, 2013, 5:30 p.m.

Bicycles are the most effective and fastest mean of transportation in our city. Let's examine their design and technology that makes them run. Learn about metal parts and composite frames, gears, chains and study how the world's craziest bikes were built: art bikes, cargo bikes, tandem bikes.

In the second part of the workshop, we will design our own unique bicycles.

Ages 13-19.

ACAlbus Cavus is an international collective of artists and scientists who improve quality of urban life through arts and creativity. This goal is accomplished with community-based public art, participatory events, interactive environments and project-oriented education. “Beneath the Surface” workshops present innovative art techniques for exploring the world beneath the obvious and invisible to the bare eye.
