So, stop by your library to sign up in June. Teens sign up online at dclibrary.org/summerreading.
Parents, if you have little ones, remember -- you are your child's first teacher. Look at picture books with your babies and young children who have not learned to read. We hope you and your family enjoy reading together and that you discover the treasures of your DC Public Library. Vist dclibrary.org for more information.
In addition to Summer Reading, the library is partnering with The Library of Congress on a writing contest for Rising 5th and 6th graders. The contest is titled " A Book That Shaped Me." Remember these are not book reports, but personal reflection essays. All winners will be recognized at the National Book Festival on the National Mall in September.
