Mission: Preservation Returns

July 24 at 1:30 p.m.

Ruth and the Green BookThe Smithsonian Institution National Museum on African American History and Culture makes a repeat visit to the Rosedale Library for an afternoon of exploration and discovery.

Join us as we share the book, Ruth and the Green Book by Calvin Ramsey, a story about a family traveling from Chicago to Alabama with the help of a well-known pamphlet created by Civil Rights activist, Ernest Green. Following a discussion of the book, participants will examine historical artifacts, record observations and determine a preservation plan.

Participants will get to keep gloves and an activity book to encourage preserving their own family histories.

Groups are asked to call in advance.
