As part of the Library's summer reading program, Dig Into Reading, children 12 and younger read a minimum of 8 hours (ages 6-12) or completed a minimum of 8 tasks (ages birth-5), based on their age group. The names of children who completed the requirements of their age group were entered into drawings on Aug. 24.
The winner of the drawing for a gift bag of books for the birth to 5 age group at the Rosedale Library was Lucas. Lucas loves to read books about trains, likes to read at the library, and his favorite book is
Thomas and the Jet Engine by the Reverend W. Awdry.
The winner of the drawing for the Kindle Fire for the 6 to 12 age group was Alisha. Alisha likes to read books about Princesses, but loves the last book she read,
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days by Jeff Kinney. Alisha's favorite place to read is her room, where she reads for a least 20 minutes per day.
Children and adults-- keep reading and watch for details about next summer's reading program, next spring.
