Our friend Namya had two favorite books to share with us.
First, she likes Judy Moody by Megan McDonald, illustrated by Peter Reynolds. She likes this book because Judy is grown.
Description: "Third grader Judy Moody is in a first day of school bad mood until she gets an assignment to create a collage all about herself and begins creating her masterpiece, the Me collage."
Judy Moody is available at several DC Public Libraries.
Second, she also likes Junie B. Jones and the Mushy Gushy Valentime [i.e. valentine], by Barbara Park, illustrated by Denise Brunkus. She likes this book because it is fun and funny.
Description: "When Junie B. Jones receives a mushy gushy "valentime" on Valentine's Day, she tries to find out who in her kindergarten class is her secret admirer."
Junie B. Jones and the Mushy Gushy Valentime is available at the Benning library in the Juvenile Fiction section.
Finally, Namya's brother Elijah likes Bob the Builder books, such as Scoop Saves the Day, by Diane Redmond. He likes Bob the Builder because Bob the Builder builds.
