Celebrate the Winter Olympics!

If you haven't already started, now is the time to join in the fun with the Olympic Readathon, exclusively at Palisades Neighborhood Library!  Stop by the Children's Desk for more information on how to earn medals and prizes, from now until the end of the Olympic Games on Feb. 23.

In celebration of the Olympics, the library will also host the following events in February:

• Thursday, Feb. 6 at 5 p.m.: Family Storytime, featuring Russian fairy tales and activities.  Suggested for ages 7 and up.
• Saturday, Feb. 8 at 2:30 p.m.: Saturday at the Olympics, featuring online streaming Olympic coverage, fun activities and refreshments. All ages welcome.

While you're here, don't miss the display of materials in the Children's Room, including information, stories and music about Russia (this year's host country), Greece (origin of the Olympics!), winter sports and past Olympic Games! Some of our favorites include:

• Peter and the Wolf retold by Michelle Lemieux, or narrated by Leonard Bernstein on the CD Children's Classics
