Valentine's Day Party
Love is in the air!
Come celebrate during our Valentine’s Day party on Friday Feb. 14 at 4 p.m. in the Children’s Room. We’ll be sharing a story, making a craft, and having lots of fun! Children of all ages are welcome to attend.
In the meantime, here are some heartfelt stories and lovely poems to share with your young ones this season:
My Heart is Like a Zoo
by Michael Hall
Depicts in rhyming text how love can be many different things, such as eager as a beaver, steady as a yak, or silly as a seal.
I Haiku You
by Betsy Snyder
A collection of haikus follows a Valentine's Day theme and combine an introduction to the poetic form with cartoon-style illustrations.
How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You
by Jane Yolen
Illustrations and rhyming text present some of the different ways dinosaurs can express their love, from cleaning up after making a mess to smiling sweetly instead of roaring.
If You’ll Be My Valentine
by Cynthia Rylant

Twosomes: Love Poems from the Animal Kingdom
poems by Marilyn Singer; pictures by Lee Wildish

But this book imagines how some of them declare their love, affection, or friendship any day of the year."
