Washington D.C.'s Baseball Teams, Past and Present

Tuesday, March 4, 2014, 6:30 p.m.

Are you a sports fan?

Come and hear author Frederic J. Frommer and former Washington Senators’ Announcer Phil Hochberg discuss D.C.’s baseball teams — past and present.

In 2013, Frederic J. Frommer published his second book about baseball in the nation’s capital, You Gotta Have Heart: A History of Washington Baseball from 1859 to the 2012 National League East Champions. In this history of the sport in Washington, Frommer covers local teams such as the Nationals of 1859, The Senators, The Homestead Grays of the Negro Leagues and the present-day Nationals through their 2012 win of the National League East Championship.

The program is presented in Washingtoniana, Room 307 in partnership with the Historical Society of Washington, D. C.

*Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event.
