Book Hill French Market

Celebrate spring and enjoy the festivities of the annual Book Hill French Market ... and visit the library! We have planned two days of special programs in cooperation with the Alliance Française of Washington. The activities of the French Market Fête will held at the library on Friday, April 25th and Saturday, April 26th.

Friday, April 25th
  • Guitar concert, 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
  • Mini-classes (French language) for adults & children, noon - 3 p.m.

Saturday, April 26th
  • Mini-classes (French language) for adults & children, 10 a.m. - noon
  • Film (French with English subtitles), 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
  • Edith Piaf Lecture, 3 p.m. -- Joan Keefe will show video clips of French icon Edith Piaf singing on Parisian stages as she traces Piaf's tragic life: her early abandonment and poverty, her lost loves, and finally, her songs, her songwriters, and her love affair with her audiences.
