Aging in Place

Cleveland Park Village and Older Americans Month

older americans monthJoin us May 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. as we welcome Elizabeth Fox, Coordinator with the DC Senior Advisory Coalition, to speak with Cleveland Park residents and library-goers on the topic of aging in place.  Aging in place is the philosophy of being allowed and able to remain in one's home, in one's community, as one grows older without regard for income or ability level.  Cleveland Park Village, opened in May of 2013, is a 501(c)(3) purposed with helping residents age in place through services delivered by screened and trained volunteers  and many different opportunities to connect with neighbors and make new friends.

Elizabeth Fox has spent much of her career in the field of aging, is a founding Board member of the Cleveland Park Village and was Executive Director of IONA Senior Services for 16 years.  The talk will be followed by an opportunity for questions and answers.
