Superman Anniversary

As most of you know, Superman is celebrating his 75th anniversary this year. To help commemorate this impressive milestone, we planned for the teens and children to create their own superman cape, and watch the movie, “Superman returns” in celebration of the anniversary.

Superman is a fictional superhero character who appears in  comic books published by DC Comics, and is considered an American cultural icon. The Superman character was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster.  The character Superman was sold to Detective Comics, Inc. (later DC Comics) in 1938.

Superman first appeared in "The Reign of the Superman", a short story from Science Fiction: The Advance Guard of Future Civilization #3, a fanzine published by Siegel in 1933.

Sunday June 1, we decided to do a program in celebration of the birth of Superman, creating capes and watching the Return of Superman (The Movie).
