Session 4: 'Looking for Transwonderland' by Noo Saro-Wiwa

On Thursday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m., at the fourth session of Dr. Phil Burnham's six-part monthly series, we will discuss Noo Saro-Wiwa's Looking for Transwonderland

A travel writer for Lonely Planet and Rough Guides, Noo Saro-Wiwa finally took up the challenge of writing a travelogue about her native Nigeria. This biting and compassionate account gives an insider/outsider's view of the richest and most populous country in sub-Saharan Africa. The fact that Saro-Wiwa's father, Ken, was executed by the Nigerian government in 1995 gives this book a gritty and touching point of view.

Literature of the English-Speaking World will be held monthly at 7 p.m.: Call 202-282-3072 or come to the Information Desk to register.
