Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration with Takoma Park
From Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, the DC Public Library is doing its part to observe National Hispanic Heritage Month, which recognizes the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States and celebrates their heritage and culture.Come celebrate with us at Takoma Park on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2:30-4 p.m. There will be a bilingual theatrical performance of “Sanos y Contentos” (“Happy and Healthy”) by Teatro de la Luna and delicious samples of a variety of Hispanic and Latino foods. (Some of the food provided courtesy of the Friends of the Takoma Park Library.)
Stop by the library at any time during Hispanic Heritage Month to check out books, music, movies and more that celebrate and explore the rich culture and heritage of Hispanic and Latino communities here and abroad. To see a selection of books by and about Hispanic authors and culture owned by the DC Library, go here.
