Geek out with us

Come by The Southeast Neighborhood Library every Tuesday in October for lessons in a variety of popular tech tools that are being used today.

A librarian will be on hand to demonstrate the various functions of these tools and answer any questions you may have. The classes will be around an hour long and there will be a few laptops available for use. Feel free to bring your own laptop to the class.

All classes will start at 2 p.m in the meeting room on the lower level of the library.

More and more people are beginning to utilize Twitter to socially engage with the world. Come learn the basics of Twitter and how you can better utilize this useful tool during the course of your day.

Google Drive has quickly become a viable alternative to Microsoft Office Suite as a tool to get your work done via the cloud. In this class, we will go over the basics of Google Drive and look at the many features and options you have at your disposal.

Microsoft Word Basics:

Microsoft Word continues to be the default word processing program for most computer users.  We will be going over how to use the Microsoft Word “Ribbon” effectively, how to format your document, and how to finalize your document once you are finished.

Email Basics:

Whether you use Gmail, Yahoo!, Hotmail or another email client, understanding the basic elements of how email works is important. In this class, we will learn the basics of sending and receiving email as well as how to manage your contacts and how to establish secure email habits.
