DC Public Library's NEW web portal to materials from Special Collections
Dig DC is DC Public Library's NEW web portal to digitized and born-digital materials from the Library’s Special Collections. The web portal will make it much easier for D.C. residents to access all the amazing archives and resources that we have at the MLK Library: From ephemera that will be digitally preserved to priceless photographs to some of our amazing maps of D.C., there's a ton of great stuff to explore.
The web portal publicly launches Wednesday, Oct. 8 as Dig DC at digdc.dclibrary.org. It's a work in progress, but there's lots of great stuff already there!
To launch the website and promote Dig DC, we are hosting lunchtime event Wednesday, October 8th. We're gathering a wide variety of speakers for a round of lightning talks. Our goal is to give a 360-degree view of the benefits of the new resource - a dozen people, from history buffs to authors to artists, will speak about the possibilities of how they will and have already used DigDC.
