Classics Revisited "Mini-series"

'Middlemarch' and My Life in 'Middlemarch'

Our lecture/discussion series “Classic Revisited” will continue this November and December with a focus on George Eliot’s masterpiece Middlemarch. We will meet to discuss the book on Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. Professor Jonathan Loesberg from American University will be to talk about the book and lead the discussion. You can hear him discuss Middlemarch on the Diane Rehm show (caution: spoilers.)

On Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. we will meet to discuss My Life in Middlemarch, Rebecca Mead’s personal story of how Middlemarch influenced her life.

Copies of Middlemarch are available on a display at the library. The eBook is available for download through the library catalog. It is advised that you start sooner rather than later, as it is quite long.  Copies of My Life in Middlemarch will be made available at the meeting in November. It is also available for download through the library catalog.

Due to elevator maintenance, the November meeting will be held at the Community Center across from the library.
