Oral History Project 13

Interviews from this collection have been digitized and are available in Dig DC.

In 1993 the Washingtoniana Division conducted a session entitled “Milestone on the Road to Self-Government” in which 5 oral history interviews were conducted as the beginning of a post-World War II Washington documentation project.  Coordinators for the project included Roxanna Deane, former Chief of the Washingtoniana division, Phil Ogilvie, Public Records Administrator of the D.C. Archives and Records Center, and John Alviti, Executive Director for the Historical Society of Washington, D.C.

This oral history collection occupies approximately 1/2 a linear foot.  The pilot project’s goal was to document and interpret the past of a major metropolitan community since the end of World War II.  The inventory below outlines the library’s holdings for each oral history interview.

The D.C. Public Library holds copyright for the collection.  There are no restrictions on the use of this collection.
