Author Talk with Kelly Jacobson

West End will be hosting a talk with local author Kelly Jacobson on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. Kelly is no stranger to the Foggy Bottom area, as she attended the George Washington University for her undergraduate degree. She started writing her first novel Cairo in White while at George Washington, and then finessed it while pursuing her Master's in Fiction at Johns Hopkins University.

Cairo in White tells the story of two generations of Egyptian women who struggle to acheive independence and love on their own terms. Kirkus Reviews describes the book a "story about enduring relationships" that is a "joy to read." Kelly will be reading an excerpt from the book and will be selling and signing copies afterward.

Kelly is also the author of a young adult trilogy, The Zaniyah Trilogy, and currently works as a literature professor at the Art Institute at Washington-Dulles. More information about her work can be found on her website.
