Summer Tricks = Treats

During the summer months, DC Public Library's Summer Reading Program offers incentives for reading and special performers, to keep children reading.  We thank child care centers, parents/caregivers and teachers who know the trick of keeping children engaged in reading. It really does take a village to raise a child.

This summer, the grand prize treats went to two wonderful children, Maleeha and Moises.

Our younger reader, Maleeha, participated with her child care center throughout the summer and enjoyed story times and special programs. She came with her class to collect her winning bag of books and allowed me to share a story from her collection.

Our older reader, Moises, came with his teacher and enjoyed a Nationals baseball game before coming to pick up his Kindle Fire during the libraries’ Back to School evening program.

We are proud of all of the participants of DC Public Library's Summer Reading Program, especially those who completed their summer reading program and won incentives.

Let the truth be known: Books are the REAL TREAT!
