Heartbroken During the Holidays?

Help for enjoying the holidays after the death of a loved one

The holiday season can be a time of magic, wonder and excitement for many, but for those who have lost a loved one, they may be a time of torment, lonliness and misery.

On Saturday, Nov. 22 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., The Wendt Center for Loss and Healing, in partnership with the DC Public Library, will present a free Loss & Healing Holiday Workshop for anyone who has lost a loved one.

The program will be conducted by graduate clinicans who specialize in grief recovery, and will review the five stages of grief and how to distingish between normal grief and dangerous emotions. Clinicians will also explain practical strategies for thriving during the holidays after suffering a loss.

The Wendt Center is a nationally known, award-winning nonprofit organization, which was recognized by the Catalogue of Philanthropy in 2003 and 2013 as one of the best charities in the Washington, D.C. region.
