Black History Month Children's Open Mic!

Writing Workshop

Join us as we host a children's writing workshop in anticipation of the Black History Month Children's Open Mic (Feb. 10).

Through this event, we are inviting children to celebrate Black History Month in a variety of ways:
  • write a brief biography about an influential African-American;
  • research passages/poetry by a favorite African American author; or
  • write your own original piece of writing inspired by Black History Month (poetry, prose, short story, autobiography, etc.)!
Come in on Jan. 29 at 4:30 p.m., where we will have ample resources to research influential African Americans and offer help/tips for writing your own piece of literature. This is a great time to learn about all the great resources DC Public Library has to offer!
