Your Friday Five

Welcome to the Northeast Library blog series Your Friday Five! Each week, the children's and teen staff will round up five of their favorite resources and reads around a certain topic.

This Friday, we are highlighting books about winter sports!

People often give winter the cold shoulder when it comes to showing love for the season's outdoor activities. Everyone loves summer because they can go swimming, kayaking, tubing, and more; but there are some winter sports that are just as fun as their summer counterparts, if not more so!

So replace those water skis with ice skates, and let's explore some winter-sport-themed books!

Tacky and the Winter Games

Persevering penguins on ice skates?!?! What more could you want?

Freeze Frame: A Photographic History of the Winter Olympics

This book includes profiles of events such as...curling. Check this one out to find out more about the lesser-known sports!

The Mystery of the Stolen Snowboard

For the super sleuth who has a little down time at the snow chalet.

Canada: Sports d'hiver

The cutest animals showcasing all of the fun winter sports there are. Bonus: This book en français, so you'll get a great foreign language vocabulary lesson out of it.

Let's not pretend that you're not fascinated by curling.
