Discover Irish traditions and culture with St. Patrick’s Day crafts!

Did you know that the word shamrock comes from the old Irish word seamrog, which means "little clover"?

Do you know what the Irish flag’s colors stand for?  Answer: Green for the Irish people; Orange for the English, who ruled Ireland for so long; and the white stripe in the middle stands for peace between the two.

Let’s join the Irish people by keeping the tradition of wearing the shamrocks that made Queen Victoria so angry that she ordered the soldiers not to wear them on their uniforms. You can guess what the proud Irish people did!

Let’s celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by making our own shamrock pins and wearing it proudly.

This program is appropriate for children of all ages.
