Mt. Pleasant Youth Arts Fair
Call for submission: Heroes of Mt. Pleasant
Calling all youth artists! Are you creative? Have you seen anything heroic in Mt. Pleasant this year?
Then we want YOU to participate in this year’s Mt. Pleasant Youth Arts Fair! Every year, we host a public art exhibition of work by local students so everyone in the community can see what talented kids we have in our midst.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Start by thinking about this year’s theme Heroes of Mt Pleasant! If you need inspiration or help with an idea or getting supplies - ask librarians at the Information Desk - they are happy to help.
- Create ONE work of art that reflects this theme in any way - real or imagined. You can make a painting, sculpture, drawing, take a photograph, basically anything you'd like - but you must be able to carry the piece yourself. (In other words it can’t be very heavy or very big!)
- Drawings and photographs need to have a mat or a frame - talk to your parents, teachers or librarians if you need some help with this.
- Participation is open to youth between the ages of 4 and 18.
If selected, a few cool things happen:
- Your artwork will be on display for everyone in the community to see!
- Your friends and family will be extremely impressed.
- You’ll be honored at the Opening Night Reception and Award Ceremony at the Library on May 7, 6-8 p.m., where all of the participating artists will receive certificates and great prizes for best in show will be presented.
