For July the Fiction Fanatics Book Club is reading The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P. by Adelle Waldman.
Have you ever read a book and not identified with the main character? Have you ever not liked them? Have you disliked the main character? Have you hated them?
The main character in this novel has been the subject of much scrutiny and brought a new focus to modern "romance" and dating. Nathaniel Piven is a member of the literary scene in Brooklyn, and a somewhat typical nerdy success story. He's made it big, and with that comes the attention of many desirable women. In The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P. Waldman gives us a taste of what this can do to Nate, and to the women with whom he is involved.
I am looking forward to lively discussion about the topics and themes in this book.
