A heroic end to Summer Reading

Visitors to the William O. Lockridge/Bellevue Library, ages birth and up, picked up their reading logs or signed-up online, aimed for their seasonal reading goals, achieved success, and became even bigger heroes this summer.  To all this year's summer readers who participated, you're super!

Keith Dancy and Anastasia (top), both avid readers and regular library visitors, completed the adult and teen summer reading programs.  Keith won a Kindle ebook reader in the adult summer reading raffle for William O. Lockridge/Bellevue and Anastasia was the winner of the DC Public Library-wide Beats Pill headphones raffle.

Two youth summer reading top prize winners shared some information about reading:

Kenya (middle right) loves to read everywhere, but especially in the kitchen, the center of activity for her family.  She prefers realistic fiction, but enjoys humor like in Diary of a Wimpy Kid:  Greg Heffley's Journal by Jeff Kinney.

Liora reads in bed (Me, too!).  Her favorite books are fairy tales and folk tales.  They can be scary, or exciting, or funny.

Join summer reading like Kenya and Liora.  Watch for details at the library, at this website, and around town next spring.
