Summer Reading 2015
A Look Back
We had a lot of fun this summer at Shepherd Park Library with many children, teens, and adults participating in our summer reading program! Here are some highlights:
Some children came as their alter-egos to Blue Sky Puppets’ performance. They were ready for anything and had a lot of fun at the puppet show.
Children were able to see up close what lives Under the Sea (or at least in the Chesapeake Bay) with live animals and had an opportunity to touch a starfish and other specimens.
Mad Science Saturdays meant hands on science experiments for kids, like the Marshmallow Challenge shown above.
Some of our library’s summer reading program winners included: Julia (left), our teen winner who loves music and couldn’t wait to use her new headphones; Michal (middle) who was excited to win a Kindle; and Baby E (right) was entranced by one of the books she received.
Our adults were also winners! Two of the top 25 adult readers were from Shepherd Park Library. They were invited to attend our event Uncensored.
If you participated in our summer reading program this year, we hope you had fun! And if you didn’t, there’s always next year!
