Victor Reinoso is Chief Operating Officer of Independent Sector, a national membership organization that brings together a community of changemakers, nonprofits, foundations and corporations working to strengthen civil society and ensure all people in the United States thrive. Victor is also founder of Hopscotch Ventures.
 
Victor was previously Senior Advisor on innovation to the President of Georgetown University and the city’s first Deputy Mayor for Education. Before becoming Deputy Mayor, Victor was as an elected school board member representing District 2 (Wards 3 & 4).
 
Victor has loved libraries as long as he can remember. As the second of five children growing up in a Spanish-only household, Victor loved to walk to his neighborhood branch and spent countless hours in the central library exploring the ideas that captured his imagination. Today, Victor and his family frequent the Takoma Park branch of DCPL.
 
Prior to public service, Victor was COO of the Federal City Council, founder of RadioFutura (an early streaming media company), and a management consultant. He has served on several nonprofit boards, including the DC Appleseed Center, Martha’s Table and the Carlos Rosario School. Victor is an Eagle Scout and a member of the Aspen Global Leaders Network; he has a B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
