Lowbrow Throw Down

Okay, so we heard a rumor that the YA fantasy bestseller City of Bones is largely repurposed Harry Potter fanfiction.  This rumor is very, very difficult to verify (at least to the satisfaction of a librarian) but it's enough for us to choose it as our January selection.  (You can hear more about Cassandra Clare and the sometimes labyrinthian world of fanfiction here. FYI, NSFW.)  If you feel like comparing and contrasting, you can probably find Clare's 'Draco Trilogy' somewhere on the web.
