Meet Dolen Perkins-Valdez

The author of Balm & Wench visits the Popular Library to talk about her work.

Join us on February 22nd at 6:30 p.m. when award-winning author Dolen Perkins-Valdez reads from her latest novel, Balm, set in post-Civil War Chicago. The event will be held in The Popular Library, our fiction reading room, located on the first floor, opposite the Digital Commons.  Both of the author's books will be available for purchase from Politics & Prose immediately after the event.

Perkins-Valdez is a DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities grant recipient.  Her first book, Wench, was named a top pick by O Magazine and NPR. She lives in Washington and teaches writing for  the Stonecoast MFA program in Maine.

Drop in on our Fiction Lover's Book Club when we discuss her book Balm, on Tuesday, February 16th at 6:30 p.m. Books for checkout will be available for pick-up in the Popular Library after January 19th. The discussion will be held in Room A-3, located on the Library's lower level.
