Author Talk: Gareth Hinds

Tenley-Friendship Library will be hosting an author visit by renowned graphic novelist Gareth Hinds on Thursday, February 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Hinds is the creator of critically-acclaimed graphic novels based on literary classics, including Beowulf, The Odyssey, and a host of Shakespeare’s plays, including King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, and The Merchant of Venice—which one review called “the standard that all others will strive to meet” for Shakespearian adaptation. Before he was a full-time graphic novelist, he worked designing computer games. You can find his illustrations in over a dozen video games. He lives in Washington, DC, and draws all the time.

Mr. Hinds will be talking about his new title, Samurai Rising, which he illustrated. The book was written by Pamela S. Turner. Copies of Mr. Hinds' new book will be available for sale and for the author to sign. We hope that you will join us. Make sure to check out other titles by Mr. Hinds from the DC Public Library system today!
