In 1997 the National Education Association and Dr. Seuss Enterprises created an event to get children inspired to read through sharing the rhyming, humorous, and unforgettable stories of Theodor Seuss Geisel, also known as, Dr. Seuss. Schools across the United States host Read Across America days on March 2, Dr. Seuss’s birthday as well as public libraries. Get your child inspired to read more Dr. Seuss and to read year round with these special programs offered throughout the day:
