Adaptive Services Interest Group

The Adaptive Services Interest Group (ASIG) is a professional networking group of the DC Library Association (DCLA) that meets three times a year to discuss issues of common interest to Adaptive Services Programs in Libraries and Universities.  Librarians and Adaptive Technology (AT) professionals are welcome.

Meetings are held at various locations around the area, including academic libraries and AT centers, and public and state libraries for the blind and physically handicapped.
Some discussion points in the past have included:
  • Distributing adaptive service remotely
  • Marketing adaptive services to different communities
  • Converting materials to alternative formats
  • Evaluation of new adaptive technologies
  • Universal Design
  • Reports from national AT conferences
  • Local AT resource providers
