HISTORY

On December 24, 1897 a fire destroyed the Lozano Dry Goods Company, located at 3101 M Street, NW and 1208, 1210, 1212, and 1214 31st Street, NW.  A subsequent lawsuit was filed by the company against six fire insurance companies* to recover various dollar amounts of insurance granted by the companies for the loss of stock and fixtures.
