International Games Day 2016!

Join us for a day of play!

Over a thousand libraries around the world will celebrate the ninth annual International Games Day @ Your Library, an annual celebration of games, play, libraries, learning and community! Help us close out National Games and Puzzles week with International Games Day @ Petworth Library. Last year’s event drew an enthusiastic group of gamers between the ages of 2 to 17 years old. Throughout the day, the children learned that the many popular games they played actually have international origins. This year, children of all ages are encouraged to partner with or challenge their family members as we play active group games, table-top games and multi-player video games throughout the day.

** From 10 - 11:30 a.m.: Early Learning Table Games & Coloring with Children ages 3 - 6

** From 12:30 - 2 p.m.: Global Games with Children ages 7 - 10

** From 2:30 - 4 p.m.: Global Games with Youth ages 10 - 14

We plan to enjoy some of last year's favorites such as: Angry Birds (Finland), Jenga (Tanzania-UK), Sudoku Shapes (Japan), Uno Spin (United States), our group dance workout with Zumba for Kids (Columbia) and our We Love Wii (Japan) Tween and Teen tournament... along with a few new additions to our 2016 games roster!
