goDigital – Learning Express Library is a 1.5 hour presentation of a dynamic database, which provides online test preparation resources related to career preparation, high school equivalency, college admissions tests, undergraduate success for college students and adult core skills, including test preparation for becoming a U.S. citizen.

In this two hour class, you will learn the basic features for creating a dynamic PowerPoint (slide show) presentation in MS PowerPoint 2016. This software is widely used in the workplace and in educational settings.

The library is offering free 2016 Microsoft Office Specialist Certification exams to people who first pass a Jasperactive™ Benchmark. Benchmarks are offered in Word Core, Word Expert, Excel Core, Excel Expert, PowerPoint Core, Access Core and Outlook Core. Benchmarks are proctored and offered in the Computer Lab located at Library Express (1990 K St. NW).
Read and discuss works by contemporary German authors in this series hosted by the Goethe-Institut Washington in partnership with the DC Public Library and the Department of Modern Languages & Literature at Catholic University of America. All books can be read in recent English translation, as the German original is much more difficult to find; our discussion will be in English. Led by local German professor Amanda Sheffer (The Catholic University of America), this book club focuses on contemporary fiction and will explore experiences and thoughts about the text.

In this two-hour class, review the advanced Google search tools, techniques and features, e.g. Google Images, Google Maps & StreetView, Google Alerts, etc. Learn to use Boolean search terms and various punctuation and characters to refine your search results.
During the American Library Association Mid-Winter Conference in Atlanta, the winners of the annual Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Non-Fiction were announced. The winners will officially receive their awards in June.
