What was like to be part of the civil rights movement as a child during the 1960s?
In her memoir for young readers, Child of the Civil Rights Movement, local author Paula Young Shelton tells the story of how her parents, the Rev. Andrew and Jean Young, and her two older sisters joined in the fight for civil rights and their work with prominent civil rights leaders of the day. Short biographies of civil rights leaders are included. The book is illustrated by Raul Colon.
The author talk is at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16. All are invited.
