DIY Printmaking with Maker in Residence Tsedaye Makonnen

Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, 6 p.m.

Learn monotype printmaking with interdisciplinary artist Tsedaye Makonnen, the DCPL Maker in Residence. This form of printmaking involves transferring an image created on different surfaces onto a sheet of paper by pressing the two together. We will use water-soluble printing ink, cardboard shapes, brushes, drawing materials and other materials provided by DC Public Library Foundation. All participants will take home their own creations. This program draws inspiration from the printmaking techniques of legendary American artist EJ Montgomery who has been based in D.C. since 1980.

Space is limited due to the hands-on nature of the class, so please register to reserve your spot. If the class isn't showing up in the calendar at the link, registration is full, but please check back for cancellations and future classes.

This class is a production of the Labs at DC Public Library. Learn more about the Labs and sign up for updates about classes and services.
