Stories and Stretches

Last date: Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, 11 a.m. (see all dates)

Who says kids need to sit still when listening to stories? Stories and Stretches is a monthly story time for children ages 3-5 years that incorporates the entire body. During this 30-to-40-minute program, children and their grownups will learn how to engage with books and storytelling through movement as we experiment with poses, shapes and stretches. Activities are designed to encourage children to develop a love of reading, promote body awareness and expand imaginations. Caregivers should be prepared to participate and model poses for their children at the level which is appropriate for them. Yoga mats are welcome but not required.

Groups of five or more must call 202-727-0971 to ensure that space is available.
