Author Talk: George Derek Musgrove

Many books have been written about the politics and history of Washington, D.C. However the city's hometown aspect frequently is overlooked.

In his new book, Chocolate City: A History of Race and Democracy in the Nation's Capital, local author George Derek Musgrove chronicles four centuries of local and national politics and multicultural social history of the District. Professor Musgrove is an associate professor of history at University of Maryland-Baltimore County. Chris Myers Asch is the book's coauthor.

This event is at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 19. The program is part of DC Public Library's yearlong 1968 project.
