Getting Started: African American Genealogy and DNA Testing

Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, 11 a.m.

Celebrate Black History Month at Shepherd Park Neighborhood Library by learning about African American genealogy and DNA testing. Andre Kearns is a native Washingtonian, Shepherd Park resident, and genealogist who has done extensive work in researching his ancestors and his family tree.

Join us on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m as Kearns discusses his fascinating discoveries and how his family's story is woven into the fabric of African American and American history. He will also provide tips and tools for people who are interested in researching their own families' history.

This is a program you do not want to miss and is great for anyone who has been interested in doing genealogical research but unsure of where to start.
