In the News: Home Movie Day

The Washington Post featured the upcoming Home Movie Day the Library is sponsoring in partnership with Suns Cinema. The event supports the Library’s Memory Lab, a DIY space where people can learn to digitize and preserve their old photos, videos and other keepsakes.

The Memory Lab began in 2015 as part of the National Digital Stewardship Residency program grant organized by the Library of Congress in conjunction with the Institute of Museum and Library Services. In 2017, the Institute of Museum and Library Services awarded the Library and the Public Library Association a National Leadership Grant to build Memory Lab digital preservation programs in seven public libraries across the U.S.
