History of the Ladies Night Book Club

It all started ten years ago, when library technicians Darnelle Perry and Martha Robinson came up with the idea to hold a book club at the newly-opened Northwest One Neighborhood Library.

As the book club gained attention from the local community, more and more people began attending the program. A few authors even made guest appearances at a few discussions! Notables include Rodney Jordan, author of Tired of Being Black and author of Shattered and Silenced Kia DuPree. Cydney Rax, who penned My Married Boyfriend, got wind of the club's discussion of her book and sent the library a few copies as a token of appreciation!

Though the name suggests that this program is exclusive to female patrons, all are welcome to partake in the monthly get together. Copies of the book can be found at the library, along with a summary of the book.

Please join us for a riveting book discussion every last Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you!
