Fab Test Lab opens April 17

DC Public Library will open the Fab Test Lab on Wednesday, April 17 at the Franklin D. Reeves Center, 2000 14th St. NW.  The Fab Test Lab will be a Do-It-Yourself space chock full of fabrication equipment, and it will help us test drive the orientations and classes that will be offered in the new Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library when it reopens in 2020.

The Fab Test Lab space will feature:

  • Laser cutters
  • 3-D printers
  • Sewing machines
  • Hand tools and power tools
  • iMac computer with Creative Suite software
  • Laptops

Before using this equipment, all patrons will need to take a brief safety orientation and a certification for the equipment they'd like to use. Orientations and certification sign-ups will be posted on: bit.ly/labsclasses

Stay tuned for more announcements and our upcoming class schedule!
