Next date: Wednesday, July 24, 2019, 10 a.m. (see all dates)

This session combines poetry with visual arts.

In the first class, participants will put together a simple pamphlet-style book, using a variety of collage and recycled materials to make a personalized working journal for the work we’ll do in the coming weeks. It will be amazing how intimate these books feel to the maker and how this will set the tone for what is written/drawn/pasted inside.

Three different poems will be introduced over the course of the session.  Participants will identify and discuss basic elements found in each poem, as well as their own responses.  These discoveries will serve as jumping off points for visual responses, whether it’s a collage, drawing, or mixed media piece.

These classes are designed for participants ages 60+. Sessions end at 11:30 AM.
Please note: The class on Wednesday, July 24 will end at 11:00 AM.
