5th Annual Chuck Brown Day with Library Takeout

Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, 12 p.m.

Join Library Takeout for the 5th Annual Chuck Brown Day presented by Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Chuck Brown Foundation - a family-friendly, outdoor event to celebrate the godfather of Go-Go. Stop by DC Public Library's tent to learn about the Go-Go Archive and how you can be part of the project! Sign up for a library card, check out a book and ask us questions about GoDigital resources.

During the afternoon, DC Public Library will host a speical conversation between Go-Go musician and promoter, Kato Hammond and journalist, Marcus Dowling, about the craft of writing about Go-Go, publishing, and marketing oneself as an author in the DMV. Visit the family stage on the North side of the park for this glimpse of local, cultural production with two experts!
