Sanditon by Jane Austen

Begins January 12 on WETA-26

Charlotte Heyward, the eldest daughter of a large family, is invited to visit a seaside resort named Sanditon. It's an exciting adventure for Charlotte as she travels away from home for the first time. Her hosts, the Parkers, are residents of the town. Mr. Parker has an  interest in commercial investment opportunities. What Charlotte experiences in Sanditon by Jane Austen is the basis of a new eight episode adaptation on WETA-26.

At the time of Jane Austen's death in March 1817, the manuscript was unfinished and didn't have a title. (Miss Austen had stopped at chapter eleven) In 1925, Sanditon was published, making it available for wider readership. The novella is available to check out from the library system.

Sanditon begins airing at 9 p.m. on Sunday evenings beginning Jan. 12 on WETA-26.
